JIC fittings, short for Joint Industry Council fittings, are a type of hydraulic fitting with a 37-degree flare seating surface on both the male and female fittings. The male fitting has a straight thread with a 37-degree flare at the end, while the female fitting has a straight thread and a matching chamfer to accommodate the flare. This design ensures a metal-to-metal seal when the fittings are tightened. It consists of three components to make a tubing assembly: body, nut and sleeve.
